Last night I attended the Future of Medicine Conference and the acronym of E.M.B.R.A.C.E was discussed.
Here are a few simple points that we should focus on daily for our overall health.
E - Eat: a few simple rules around food can make each day a bit simpler - ever heard of the Steve Jobs rule?
M - Move: It doesn't mean you have to sign up for a marathon, it could be as simple as taking the stairs instead of the lift, doing squats while waiting for the jug to boil. Snack on activity!
B - Breathe: Breathing controls our emotions. Consider whether you are a mouth breather or a nose breather.
R - Rest / Recovery / Sleep: Not only is this important for our bodies but crucial for brain health!
A - Align: Are you living your life with purpose or meaning. What are you really proud of achieving in the past 6 months?
C - Connect: Connecting with other people to share love and joy is an essential pillar of health.
E - Engineer: What could you do to make the healthiest choice easy? Could it be as simple as not having the chocolate biscuits in the house?
